What to Expect at a Veterinary Appointment

Knowing what you can expect at your first appointment will help to make its process easier.

STEP 1
Get Settled

Do your best to arrive about 10 minutes early for your appointment. This will give you some time to fill out a New Patient Form. If you'd like, you can save some time by filling the New Patient Form online in advance.

STEP 2
Meet Your Veterinarian

A member of our veterinary team will review your pet's medical history and speak with you about any health issues they may be experiencing. We will dedicate time to answering any questions you might have about our hospital or veterinary care.

STEP 3
Examination, Diagnosis & Treatment

Once we have assessed your pet, we will provide you with a diagnosis and lay out your pet's treatment options. Your veterinarian will work closely with you to determine which treatment plan is the right fit for your pet.

Our Pet Care Philosophy

We are committed to providing compassionate, individualized care using modern, cutting-edge technology. We are proud to serve pet owners in Santa Clarita.

At Valencia Veterinary Center, we believe that "pets are people, too!" Because of this, we are deeply dedicated to providing innovative and exceptional services to all of our clients.

Hospital FAQs

Learn more about our office policies, payment options, and appointment booking by reading through our hospital FAQs.

  • What types of payment options are available?

Payment in full is expected at the time services are provided or upon discharge of your pet. We accept payment by cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.

  • Are there payment plans available for my pet’s care?

We are proud to offer CareCredit as a financing option. They offer an easy application process that will give you results in minutes.

  • Will I be provided with an estimate of costs?

We will provide an estimate of our services' cost in good faith prior to treating your pet. However, unforeseen circumstances may arise and impact your final bill.

Before our clients leave our hospital, we will always discuss our written estimate with them to ensure everyone is on the same page. We also require a deposit based on our estimate before providing treatment.

  • Should I call ahead to book an appointment?

We encourage our clients to call ahead and book their appointments to ensure we have room in our schedule to see your pet.

In the event that your pet needs urgent care during our regular business hours, please contact us right away.

We are able to provide care for companion cats and dogs of all breeds and sizes.

  • Where can I purchase my pet's prescription and food?

You are able to purchase all the specialty foods and medication your pet needs through our in-house pharmacy.

  • What are the fees associated with a specialty appointment?

You are financially responsible for the initial examination fee as well as any treatment or diagnostics that you have consented to for your pet's treatment. You will have to make this payment at the time of service.

For further diagnostics, surgery, or hospitalization, we require an upfront deposit with payment due in full when your pet is discharged.

  • What are the fees associated with an emergency visit?

A deposit payment is required for all emergency examinations. Once the staff and doctors have examined your pet, an estimate for treatment will be given to you to determine a treatment plan.

If further hospitalization, diagnostics, or surgery are required, a deposit is required up front, with payment in full due when your pet is discharged.

  • Can you help with my pet insurance?

We are more than happy to assist you in filling out pet insurance forms for your pet's visit.
